These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between the User ("User", "you") and [Your Service Name] ("Service", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. NATURE OF SERVICE & INFRASTRUCTURE
1.1. Service Role: The Service provides a management interface and automation tools for object storage hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure. We act as a software layer; we do not own or operate the physical data centers.

1.2. Storage Classes: Data is stored using AWS S3 Glacier Instant Retrieval (for metadata/previews) and AWS S3 Glacier Deep Archive (for primary archives).

1.3. Retrieval Delay (Cold Storage): You acknowledge that data restoration from "Deep Archive" is not instantaneous. The retrieval process typically takes between 12 to 48 hours. The Service shall not be held liable for any damages, losses, or inconveniences resulting from this technological delay.

2. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY & DATA INTEGRITY
2.1. "As-Is" Provision: The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. While AWS provides high durability (99.999999999%), the Service provides no independent financial or legal guarantees regarding 100% data persistence.

2.2. Third-Party Failures: The Service is not liable for data loss, corruption, or unavailability caused by:

Failures in AWS infrastructure or global cloud outages.

Cyber-attacks, "Acts of God," or force majeure events.

2.3. Backup Responsibility: Users are strictly encouraged to maintain independent, off-site backups of critical data. The Service is not intended to be a sole, fail-safe repository for mission-critical information.

3. CONTENT POLICY & DIRECT UPLOAD
3.1. Direct Upload Model: Data is uploaded directly to AWS storage via Presigned URLs. The Service does not intercept, inspect, monitor, or moderate the content of the files during the upload process.

3.2. User Responsibility: You assume sole legal responsibility for the legality of the stored content. Prohibited content includes, but is not limited to:

Copyright-infringing materials (DMCA violations).

Malware, viruses, or harmful code.

Content that violates international laws or regulations.

3.3. Right to Terminate: We reserve the right to neutralize or delete any account found in violation of these terms without prior notice or refund.

4. USAGE ACCOUNTING & BILLING (QUOTAS)
4.1. Volumetric Request Formula: To maintain service affordability, we calculate API request usage based on data volume. For all data operations, the system records one (1) Write Request for every 50 MB of data, rounded up to the nearest whole number.

4.2. Method of Calculation: The Service reserves the right to calculate usage based on this volumetric formula regardless of the actual number of HTTP requests made by third-party upload managers or custom scripts.

4.3. Egress Fees: Data retrieval and downloading are subject to "Data Transfer Out" (Traffic) charges as specified in our pricing tiers.

5. SERVICE DISCONTINUATION & EXIT STRATEGY
5.1. Right to Discontinue: The Service reserves the right to suspend or terminate operations at any time. In the event of a permanent shutdown, users will be notified via their registered email address at least 30 days in advance.

5.2. Costs of Extraction: In the event of service closure or account termination, the User is strictly responsible for all costs associated with data extraction. This includes AWS-specific fees for:

Data Retrieval (thawing from Deep Archive).

Data Transfer Out (Internet traffic).

5.3. Final Data Deletion: Upon expiration of the 30-day notice period, any data remaining on the infrastructure will be permanently deleted without further liability to the Service.

6. INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Service and its operators from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

7. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Your Jurisdiction/Country], without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

PRIVACY POLICY
Last Updated: March 31, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how [Your Service Name] ("Service," "we," "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our data archiving platform.

1. DATA COLLECTION
We collect only the information necessary to provide and maintain the Service:

Account Information: Email address, username, and billing details (processed through secure third-party payment gateways).

File Metadata: File names, sizes, MIME types, hash sums (for integrity checks), and upload timestamps. This data is stored in our database to display your file list within the interface.

Technical Data: IP address, browser type, and activity logs (used for fraud prevention and technical support).

2. DATA PROCESSING & STORAGE (AWS)
Direct Upload Model: Your actual files (the content) are transmitted directly from your device to Amazon Web Services (AWS) storage using Presigned URLs.

No Access to Content: Our servers do not intercept, view, or copy the content of your files during the upload process. We only receive the technical metadata required to account for the storage usage.

Data Location: Data is stored in AWS regions selected during the archive setup (default: [Specify Region, e.g., EU-Central-1]).

3. USE OF INFORMATION
We use your information exclusively to:

Provide access to your archive and management dashboard;

Calculate storage quotas and API request usage based on our volumetric formula (1 request per 50 MB);

Send critical notifications regarding service status or changes to AWS infrastructure;

Comply with legal requests from law enforcement (in the event of a violation of our Terms of Service).

4. THIRD-PARTY DATA DISCLOSURE
We do not sell or trade your personal data. We only share information with third parties in the following cases:

Amazon Web Services (AWS): As our underlying infrastructure provider for data storage.

Payment Processors: To facilitate secure billing and subscription management.

Legal Compliance: If required by a court order, subpoena, or applicable law.

5. SECURITY
Encryption: We use TLS/SSL encryption for all connections between your browser and the Service.

Access Control: Access to metadata in our database is strictly limited and protected by industry-standard authentication methods.

Storage Security: The security of the files themselves is managed via AWS S3 protocols (Server-Side Encryption SSE-S3 or SSE-KMS).

6. YOUR RIGHTS & DATA DELETION
You have the right to download your metadata or request the deletion of your account at any time.

Account Termination: Upon your request, your personal information and metadata are removed from our database immediately. A deletion command for physical objects in AWS Glacier Deep Archive is issued automatically and is typically completed within 48 hours according to AWS protocols.

7. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of any significant changes via the email address associated with your account or through a prominent notice on the Service interface.

1. INTRODUCTION
This Cookie Policy explains how Ice Vault uses cookies and similar technologies to recognize you when you visit our platform. It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them.

2. WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used by website owners in order to make their websites work, or to work more efficiently, as well as to provide reporting information.

3. HOW WE USE COOKIES
We use a minimal set of cookies required for the secure and stable operation of the Vault. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

- Essential Cookies: These are strictly necessary to provide you with services available through our Website and to use some of its features, such as access to secure areas.
- Session Management: Our system (Django Framework) uses cookies to maintain your authenticated state. This allows the server to recognize your requests as you navigate through the platform without asking for your password on every single page.
- Security (CSRF): We use cookies to protect the integrity of the data sent from your browser to our servers, preventing Cross-Site Request Forgery attacks.

4. SPECIFIC COOKIES WE USE
- sessionid: A standard Django session cookie used to keep you logged in.
- csrftoken: A security cookie used to prevent CSRF attacks and ensure that your file uploads are authorized.

5. CONTROLLING COOKIES
You have the right to decide whether to accept or reject cookies. You can set or amend your web browser controls to accept or refuse cookies. If you choose to reject essential cookies, you may still use our website, though your access to some functionality and secure areas (like your Vault) will be strictly limited or impossible.

6. UPDATES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to the cookies we use or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.

1. CLIENT_SIDE_SECURITY
- Encryption_Model: Zero-Knowledge Architecture.
- Data_Transformation: All sensitive data is processed using AES-256-GCM before leaving the client environment.

2. STORAGE_INFRASTRUCTURE
- Tier: Cold Storage / Archive Class.
- Durability_Rating: 99.999999999% (11 nines).
- Physical_Redundancy: Data is replicated across multiple geographically isolated high-security data centers.
- Integrity_Check: Periodic bit-rot protection and automated integrity validation.

3. NETWORK_PROTECTION
- Protocol: Forced TLS 1.3 for all data in transit.
- Access_Control: Temporary, time-limited cryptographic tokens for data retrieval.
- Perimeter: Hardened infrastructure with strict CORS and CSP headers.

4. OBJECT_LIFECYCLE
- Storage_Class: Deep Archive.
- Retrieval_Type: Asynchronous.
- Restoration_Window: 12-48 hours.
- Consistency: Strong read-after-write consistency for new objects.

1. SUBSCRIPTION_CONTINUITY & DEBT_RECOVERY
- Service_Resumption: If a subscription is cancelled or expires and is later renewed, the user is required to cover the storage costs incurred during the inactive period.
- Rationale: Ice Vault maintains your data in physical cold storage during the grace period. To resume service, all outstanding "maintenance debt" must be settled to cover the infrastructure costs paid to our upstream provider (AWS).

2. PLAN_UPGRADES & TRAFFIC_ROLLOVER
- Data_Incentive: When upgrading to a higher-tier plan, any unused data transfer (egress) from your previous cycle will be converted into "Bonus Traffic" and added to your new balance.
- Bonus_Lifespan: Bonus traffic credits do not expire as long as the subscription remains active.

3. DOWNGRADE_RESTRICTIONS
- Capacity_Check: Users cannot downgrade to a cheaper plan if their current storage occupancy exceeds the maximum limit of the target plan.
- Prerequisite: To switch to a lower tier, you must first delete or move objects until your total usage is within the boundaries of the desired plan.

4. DATA_RETENTION_&_PURGE_PROTOCOL
- Cancellation_Policy: Upon total cancellation of payment, data is not deleted immediately but enters a "Final Archival State".
- Final_Deletion: Data will be permanently purged after the mandatory storage minimums defined by our infrastructure provider (90 to 180 days, depending on the object's age and tier).
- No_Recovery: Once the purge window closes, data recovery is mathematically and physically impossible.

5. COLD_STORAGE_LOGIC
- Minimum_Storage_Duration: Objects are subject to a 180-day minimum storage charge.
- Early_Deletion: Deleting objects before the 180-day threshold will incur a "Short-Term Storage" fee equal to the remaining period's cost.
